Super Bowl 2026: Date, kickoff time, location and how to watch

Thirty-two teams compete in the NFL every year, but only one can call itself champion.

Last February, thePhiladelphia Eaglesdominated theKansas City Chiefsfor their second Super Bowl win of the last decade. That win ended the Chiefs' hopes for a three-peat in their fifth Super Bowl appearance in the last six seasons.

Kansas City will miss the playoffs entirely this year, but Philadelphia is back again with hopes of a repeat of its own. They'll face stiff competition from the rest of the NFC field in what's been a dynamic hierarchy atop the standings.

Fourteen teams are competing for the sports' ultimate prize: a Super Bowl victory and the Lombardi Trophy. The playoff field features at least five teams that did not reach the postseason last year. It's a wide-open competition for who will be the final team standing.

The final game of the year will be Super Bowl 60. Here's everything to know about the game as the postseason begins:

<p style=Week 1: Detroit Lions wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa (18) makes a catch for a touchdown against the Green Bay Packers during the fourth quarter at Lambeau Field. The play was originally ruled an incomplete pass, but the call was overturned. Despite TeSlaa's effort, the Packers won the game 27-13.

It was a rough Giants debut for Wilson (17 of 37 passing for 168 yards) as the Commanders won the game, 21-6. Week 1: Fireworks go off before the NFL Kickoff Game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field. The defending Super Bowl champion Eagles opened the season with a 24-20 victory over their longtime NFC East rivals.
